(08/01/18) A new version of APWU SEARCH, the APWU’s online database of national and Regional arbitration awards, Step-4 Settlements, USPS Handbooks, and past CBRs, is now live at the above link.

In late 2017, the vendor who maintains our database, LexisNexis, informed us that the legacy system they were using for APWU SEARCH would be permanently shut down effective August 6, 2018. In order to continue APWU SEARCH we were required to migrate to a new “customer interface” (CI) on August 1, 2018. This customer interface will be completely new and have a new web address:  https://advance.lexis.com/api/page/APWU.

The new interface will allow you to search with the parameters previously used in the last version of SEARCH and will also allow for natural language searching.  This version will also return many more results than the previous version.  In this new version you can focus and narrow down your searches even after results have been returned on your initial search terms.

The “Director’s Pick” feature will be continued in this version of SEARCH where you can use a set of drop-down menus to search by article and topic.

In late July 2018, notification was sent out to the registered active users of SEARCH that changes were coming.  On July 30, 2018 and July 31, 2018, registered users should have received an email directly from LexisNexis informing them of new web address and need to change their passwords.  If you are a registered user and did not receive the email please check your “junk” or “spam” folder for the email from LexisNexis.  If you cannot find the email please contact the Industrial Relations Department at 202-842-4273.

LexisNexis will be at the 2018 National Convention to provide training on the new interface.  In addition to the training at the convention they will be conducting two (2) webinars for users to receive training after the national convention.  Further details about the webinars will be posted at a later date.  There will be a link to the recorded webinar provided on this website once the webinar has been conducted and recorded.  Future users and those users wishing to refresh their knowledge can view the webinar to develop their APWU SEARCH skills.

Hundreds of APWU locals and state organizations have registered users for APWU SEARCH.  This is the single most comprehensive database for arbitration advocates, local officers, and stewards who are research grievance issues and need to review regional and national arbitration decisions.

To access APWU SEARCH, you must be a designated APWU representative authorized by your local president.  Local presidents must submit an APWU SEARCH registration form [PDF] requesting access for each authorized user.  Once the registration form is processed, an approved user will receive their APWU SEARCH ID and password directly from LexisNexis.

Support for APWU Search is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Lexis-Nexis Customer Service. To contact customer service call 1-800-543-6862 and then choose from the following options:
